Blackrock

Black Rock

Black Rock is famous for the prominent sandstone Red Bluff and Half Moon Bay. From the sandy beach of Black Rock you can see the HMVS Cerberus, the last surviving monitor warship in the world. Black Rock has a lifesaving club, yacht club, and like its Bayside neighbours, is a popular thoroughfare for cyclists and avid nature walkers.

The Black Rock Pier juts out magnificently and locals can breathe in the sea air and take in the sights. Visitors to Black Rock know they’ve arrived as they drive by the Black Rock Clock Tower, which essentially serves as an enormous sign post at the  Beach Road, Balcombe Road and Bluff Road shopping precinct. This is a central point of action for locals, and is home to some of the Bayside region’s great cafe’s, restaurants and bars like True South. The Beaumaris library is close by and there are great primary schools in Black Rock. Firbank and Mentone Grammar are also close by.

With a mix of architecturally designed mansions along Beach Road and beautiful residential family homes, Black Rock is truly one of Melbourne’s best suburbs.

Black Rock is 18 km from the CBD and it’s part of the City of Bayside. The postcode for Black Rock is 3193.
